As the world’s largest open-air shopping center, Ala Moana serves as a vital cultural conduit between the East and West. Tasked with refreshing this flagship destination, I developed a visual system inspired by traditional Hawaiian feather works — historic symbols of power and status.

By modernizing these ancient shapes into a clean, minimal aesthetic, I established Ala Moana as a contemporary "chief" of the Pacific. This work explored the balance between luxury retail aesthetics and an inviting, local energy, using a sun-drenched, sophisticated palette to frame lifestyle imagery.

I applied this identity across all touchpoints, from large-scale environmental graphics to digital collateral. The result is a cohesive, refined brand experience that honors Hawaiian heritage while remaining a dynamic, welcoming gathering place for millions of annual visitors.
